The links found here are to the most recent and complete course materials (2023FW term) for ITEC2210 that I taught between 2017 and 2024.

The course was redesigned in 2017 and I had the pleasure and privilege to teach it consecutively every term until the strike at York in 2024.

My goal teaching ITEC2210 was to help guide students starting out in IT through various complex topics that they would encounter in their careers. Lessons and ideas that I wish someone had taught me when I was first starting out.

The assignments changed over the years from group presentations to more practical hands on work. Feedback from students was that they enjoyed the technical work more, and that they felt a sense of accomplishment and competence after completing them. I think they are the most important part of what we learned together in ITEC2210, and demonstrate the pedagogical value of doing technical work to learn about new subjects.
